France budgets $1.74B for clean energy

Solar sails reach the outer space

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has recently launched the Interplanetary Kite-craft Accelerated by Radiation (Ikaros). The Ikaros space craft is equipped with solar sail that uses sunlight or solar energy to propel it. The launching of this space craft is proof that similar types of vehicles can be powered by solar energy.
